Why We Love It...

It’s all Grand Cru, baby! We’ve pulled together a selection of 3 gorgeous bottles from some of the top Grand Cru sites in all of Champagne for your sipping and celebrating pleasure! To get all THREE of these magnificent beauties for less than $60 each? Well, that’s an achievement only Last Bubbles can boast.

Fair warning, folks: These are likely to move very, very quickly and potentially even sell out before the day’s done! Based on the way y’all scoop up our individual Grand Cru offers, we don’t see this epic trifecta lasting long. So, get one collectible set, or get two...but whatever you do, move fast!

First up, we have a 93 point, 2018 Brut Nature from a true rising star in Champagne, Domaine Vincey, established in 2004 and located in the Grand Cru village of Oger. With all the wines undergoing natural fermentation and raised in French oak barrels, this house maintains a sharp focus on organic and biodynamic farming and winemaking practices, receiving their official certifications in 2023. The texture, the balance, and the energy of this bone-dry, mega-crisp, 100% chardonnay Champagne are spectacular, to say the least. A whirlwind of almond shortbread and preserved lemons, plus tingly ginger root, ground hazelnut, apple pie, and some expressed orange peel descend on the palate in the loveliest of manners, with a chalky mineral undertone and loads of vivaciousness that seduce you into your next sip.

Next, we have a terrific, under-the-radar grower-producer from the eastern edge of the Vallée de la Marne, just below Bouzy. Lamiable’s non-dosage Brut Nature cuvée, titled “seed of stars,” is a precise and penetrating bottling of top-notch Grand Cru Champagne that you won’t find anywhere else in the U.S., and perhaps anywhere for this price! This cuvée is a blend of the Grand Cru territories of Tours-sur-Marne and neighboring Bouzy to craft a zero-dosage Champagne of 60% pinot noir and 40% chardonnay, with a little less than half coming from a perpetual reserve, crafted solera-style and going back a few decades. After 4 years on the lees, the resulting wine is compact, fresh, and concentrated in flavors with hints of white grapefruit, lime zest, and flint, plus creamy hazelnut and buttered brioche, with fierce tension and uplifting acidity throughout. Just dreamy, mouthwatering stuff!

And last, but not least, we have a rare, double-95-point Ambonnay Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru from the historic Déthune family’s ever-impressive portfolio. This wine is made of 100% pinot noir and is vinified with an unheard of (and impressive) process of a combination of 33% 205-liter Champagne oak barrels and 33% 34-hl oak turns, while 34% is reserve wine from a period of 40 different years, all vinified in oak tuns. After maturing for 3 years on the lees and finishing with a 5 g/L dosage, it opens with notes of bright key lime, grapefruits, shortbread, and a minerally, tonic water-like aroma, with undertones of delicate croissant crust, vanilla toast, and misty, fresh sea air. Balanced, forward, and complex as can be, with a generous personality and spectacularly long finish – this Déthune is almost too good to be true, and is an absolute treasure to enjoy!

These bubblies with the greatest of origins will outperform plenty of wines at three times the price – with none the wiser. With wines this exceptional, there’s no convincing necessary! Believe me when I say that this is one of the best collectible packs we’ve ever done on Last Bubbles; it’s a tour-de-force of an offer that is discounted so well, you might as well buy two.
