Why We Love It...

We’ll be featuring top-notch magnums from some of our very favorite producers. Be forewarned… they will sell out. When they do, we’ll send along the next offer and get right back at it. Some of the best deals in our young history are coming your way today!

Drinking the new releases of Gallimard just makes us all warm and fuzzy inside. We discovered them some years back when they were virtually unknown outside of France, and the wines have just gotten better and better every year. Now, the world is taking note. These are grower-producers of the first order, pushing the envelope in the Côte des Bar and changing the game of pinot noir-based Champagnes! Nearly half off, under $60… just remarkable, impressive stuff.

Didier and Arnaud make the perfect father-son team. Didier is the old guard, rooted in tradition and paying homage to the generations of the family who farmed this land before. Arnaud is the future, experimenting, re-evaluating, and driving the wines to newfound heights – even chosen by Wine Enthusiast as one of the "Champagne Producers Redefining France’s Bubbly". Combined, they are the perfect complement to one another – mad scientist and wizened sage – ever evolving without getting too far off track. We’ve certainly noticed an uptick in their overall quality over the past few years, and this Blanc de Noir is our favorite yet!

100% pinot noir from their Les Riceys estate, located in the Côte des Bar, the heart of Champagne. These vines are grown in the region’s mix of clay and chalk soils amongst the rolling wood-topped hills surrounding their village...an area pristinely suited to pinot noir. The wine is disgorged in the “à la volée” style, wherein the yeast is forcefully expelled without first freezing the neck of the bottle. Quite the sight! It’s utterly delicious, compelling stuff that is loaded with super fresh pears, white plums, and red nectarines, with vivacious freshness and toasted croissant notes. Rich and weighty on the palate, this has a slight caramel finish to complement the crisp fruit and yeasty layers. Only a handful of these beauties available, but more to come!
