Some mysteries appear too good to be true! Here’s what we can tell you: This House was founded in 1760 in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger by a Reims vineyard owner and stands strong today as one of Champagne’s five oldest and most respected Houses. Its motto is “Vive et me ama” (or “Live and love me”), a phrase that carries through each aspect of their work, from the meticulous and passionate production methods to the ebullient experience given with every sip of their cuvées. 

Their Blanc de Blancs from the wonderful 2018 vintage pulls fruit from six villages, each adding their own unique characteristics to the final blend: acidity and chalky minerality from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, structure and balance from Avize, warmth and body from Oger, smoky essences from Cramant, length and power from Chouilly, and roundness from Oiry. Four years aging time on the lees and 6 grams per liter dosage round out this 100% Chardonnay cuvée, whose final personality is all at once powerful, yet light on its feet.

A pale yellow hue meets the eye, while aromas of apple pie, crunchy quince, white florals, and singed grapefruit generously waft from the glass. A buoyant, soft mousse greets the tongue with added layers of juicy orchard fruits, plus shaved almonds, green apple, pickled ginger, lemon meringue, cream puff pastries, and hints of smoky earth and crushed oyster shell. It’s simultaneously bright with vivid fruits spanning orchard to citrus, while also carrying this searing acidity and chalky minerality, only softened by a touch of light and seductive creaminess.
