Why We Love It...
Brimoncourt is fairly young, landing on the scene in 2008 but instantly gaining fame with their fine, elegant style. The head of this court is the beguiling Alexandre Cornot – charming dissenter, admirer of the terroir, and all in all Champagne lover. While he may not be trained in winemaking, he inspires the character and style of each cuvée this house creates. As a former lawyer in tax and corporate law, a Navy officer, paratrooper, entrepreneur, and art collector, this jack of many trades has spent the last 15 years building the Brimoncourt house from scratch. One sip and you’ll agree – it is a supremely admirable effort!
The wines are born in Aÿ, in the historical heart of the Champagne vineyards, in nearly 200-year-old buildings and surrounding gardens. The fruit is sourced from some of the top chardonnay sites in the Côte des Blancs – Les Mesnil, Chouilly, Cuis, Oger, Avize, and more! Those are some serious grape sources, which makes us only conclude this house is just getting started. Four cuvées currently, none of which are single vineyards or vintage designated wines. Brimoncourt has proudly stated that they are in no hurry, and indeed volume increase is not a concern or a part of their long-term plan. They intend to build this slowly, by quality alone. And they are well on their way.
Pulling from some of the most pristine chardonnay sites across all of Champagne, this 100% chardonnay cuvée somehow comes in well under $40 and simply enthralls. The quality for value is truly unparalleled – and when we’ve offered this before, it flew from our shelves faster than we could say “Blanc de Blancs.” I implore you not to miss out on this impressive beauty!

Brimming with sweet grapefruit and toasted brioche, with delightful touches of yuzu, crushed rock, ginger, a deft touch of crème brûlée – this is immensely crowd-pleasing and downright delicious. Round and balanced with that perfect touch of hedonism and grand opulence. More than once we found ourselves double-checking the price… this should be far more expensive! I mean, we do have it for nearly 57% less than Wine Enthusiasts’ own suggested retail, but still…93 points! Simply exceptional Blanc de Blancs at a drink-every-week price!
