About the Producer

The Moingeon family has had a presence in Burgundy since the fifteenth century: Jehan Moingeon, born in 1415 was a farmer, he probably never imagined that two of his 1500 descendants were going to give birth in the nineteenth century to one of the most prestigious houses of Burgundy: La Maison du Crémant. The origin of the company began with two very unusual weddings. The brothers Francis and Albert Moingeon, winemakers in Pommard married two sisters respectively, Louise and Bertha. They settled in 1895 in Nuits-Saint-Georges and jointly "champagnized" and commercialized the wines of their production located in Pommard, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vougeot. Thus was born La Maison du Crémant.
