Founded in 1942 in Chigny-Les-Roses, the house of J. Lassalle has long stood for artisanal Champagne rooted in terroir and made with the most thorough care possible. Under the ownership of the Lassalle family, vineyard work, pressing, and blending remain personal and hands-on – yielding wines of exceptional authenticity and mouthwatering nuance.

With the Special Club designation, J. Lassalle joins a select group of grower-producers whose top-tier bottlings meet the highest standards of quality and aging. The 2014 iteration, drawn from estate vines and fermented with a commitment to purity, is a seamless expression of the house’s philosophy. Composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, the grapes thrive among mineral-dense clay-limestone soils on vines an average age of 50 years old.

The dazzling rose-gold wine opens with a salty and mineral-driven profile filled with a powerful and brooding medley of dates, umeboshi plums, and creamy nougat. The mid-palate is refined and vibrant, with additional flavors of wine-braised pears, golden apples, and blanched almonds, with some exotic lime leaf and cardamom on the long and elegant finish.
