Why We Love It...
If you’re new to South African bubblies, allow us to give you a proper introduction. With ancient and diverse soils and a warm climate, South Africa is known for producing bold, aromatic, and highly complex wines of multiple varieties. Our first wine – Lubanzi Wines Rosé Bubbles NV – comes from a 100% carbon-neutral, profit-sharing, all-in-all responsible, and sustainable producer. Made of 100% cinsault grape in the heart of South Africa’s Swartland, the grapes are grown old bush-vine style, completely dry-farmed on a soil bed of decomposed granite and shale. These 35-year-old vines produce light red-skinned grapes, packed with waves of red fruits. Everything from dusty strawberries to red raspberries, Bing cherries, and Ruby Red grapefruits – all accented with a crisp, cool vein of stony minerality. It’s straightforward and impeccably clean – just a perfect, cleansing sip that you can’t wait to repeat!
Second in the pack… the 92 point Mulderbosch Sparkling Chenin Blanc Brut 2021! Mulderbosch is without question one of South Africa’s most renowned wineries, founded in 1989 and taking root in the heart of the Stellenbosch region, one of the most premium stars of the South African wine scene. This delectable 100% chenin blanc is all about the freshness: green apple, crisp pear, and Meyer lemon, followed by white florals of honeysuckle and jasmine, wild and grassy herbs like lemon verbena, tarragon, and sage, and all wrapped up in a creamy, zesty sipping experience! If you love Vouvray chenins, this is on par with some of the best we’ve encountered, for a fraction of the price.
For $79, this whole 6-pack goes for about $13 a bottle (and don’t forget about the FREE shipping) – when each of these wines normally pushes $30 in retail! Perfect sippers for fireside evenings, football parties, and all your upcoming holiday soirees…just make sure you swipe one or two before they’re all gone!
