Robert had always held a strong admiration for nature, and thus influenced Roland to take a more holistic approach in the field when tending the vines. Although it would mean lower yields, Roland eventually led the winery to make the full switch to organic farming in 2014, followed soon after by biodynamic certification. The wines have since exuded a searing authenticity, elegance, and freshness, true to the land and soils they originate from.

Cuvée de Reserve is a classic Champagne blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from emblematic vineyards in the Piollots’ home village of Polisot. After aging on the lees for two years, a Brut dosage is given at disgorgement, allowing for a creamy mouthfeel to accentuate the backbone of refreshing acidity.

Pouring a clear pale straw color, the mousse is fine with percolating, tiny bubbles and fragrant, cheery aromas of marshmallows and wisteria, with lemon and lime sensations in the background. The palate is exuberantly bright and fresh, with a river rock spritziness alongside cut grass, honeydew melon, and clementine notes. This is finely balanced and wonderfully complex, while maintaining a sense of both precision and whimsy. Definitely an exciting find in the realm of grower Champagne, and a jubilant wine to enjoy on many occasions! Add a few to your collection, at least, to add some brightness to all your upcoming Fall festivities!

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0796/1211/7307/files/Champagne_Piollot_Cuvee_de_Reserve_Brut_NV_1008825.jpg?v=1759162754
